I created this page so that the people who love and care
about Jack can stay up-to-date on the latest and offer encouragement and
support, and as a way to raise money to cover the growing medical bills and any
items Jack needs. If you prefer
Facebook, you can also follow the latest at https://www.facebook.com/SendLegosOreosandChocolateMilk (or click the Like image).
How did I come up with the name of this page? First, it’s not a solicitation for people to
send Legos, Oreos and chocolate milk.
Sometime ago I saw a picture of a child’s hospital room window. Someone had made a sign that read “Send
Pizza.” While I realize this child was
likely sicker than my son, I like to think that in a moment of searching for
levity to the situation, someone thought it would be funny/cute to put the sign
in the window. As I was in the hospital
with my son in August I thought about what a sign in Jack’s window might say.
**This is my disclaimer – I am not trying to garner sympathy
or make Jack seem sicker than he is. I
certainly know there are much sicker kids out there and I am very grateful that
the two current conditions we are dealing with are manageable thus far. I am also well aware that given Jack’s
beginning he could be much worse off medically.
However with changes in healthcare coverage and the rising cost of
medical services, bills are quickly mounting.
I am simply doing what I can to raise money to cover these costs.
If you see something here that you would like to purchase,
please keep in mind that this is not an online garage sale. I am not going to haggle with you over the
current pricing. I am sorry if that
sounds harsh, but I need to be very clear here.
Please remember that the money raised in the selling of these items goes
to help my son. I am well aware that you
can probably go to your local thrift store, Good Will or resale shop and find
something you like for a lower cost. My
hope is that you will see something you like, or would like to give as a gift
and will purchase it knowing you are also helping a well deserving little boy.
So, what’s going on with Jack? Right now we are dealing with two major
issues with his health. First he has hip
dysplasia. The second issue is a
condition he has where his throat starts to swell shut and he cannot
breathe.
